Jeni and Simon have written a book for NATE/Routledge about Teachers' Writing Groups. It is based on the principles, methods, and evidence from the first 6 years of the project, from its foundation in 2009, to 2015.
The first writing residential for teachers took place in 2016, during the autumn half-term break, Sun 23 Oct - Tuesday 25 Oct 2016, at Belsey Bridge on the Norfolk/Suffolk border. The second writing residential took place, 25-27 October 2017, at High Leigh Conference Centre in Hertfordshire. 32 writing teachers' groups have been launched across England and Wales, and at the start of 2017, about 22 were still meeting, each one led by a volunteer teacher. The most established is the UEA group which preceded the formation of NWP (UK). The newest groups which started in 2017 are Bedford, Leyburn, Glasgow and the re-launched Reading. updated by Simon Wrigley 21.11.2017 |
