Year 5 writers

When I go to my Auntie Caroline's house, I find money under the sofa. I usually go there when it's a party. Under the sofa it's stinky and dusty. Once in a while, I find spiders and their webs. The money I find is usually pence and two pence. One day I hope I will find a pound. If I keep doing this, I will be very rich. Once I had a dream of being extra skinny and slithered under the sofa and lifted it up in a flash! If they don't start hoovering it will smell musty.

It is a crumbling cliff of slate; heather clogs up the cracks. A gentle brook winds its way round. Old rotten fences with rusty barbed wire are bent out of shape. Small trout dart about among the algae-matted rocks. Some of these rocks protrude from the crystal-clear water. Frogs and toads splash noisily through the thick mud on the bank. Small coarse bushes and shrubs stick out oddly in the flat and weathered landscape. The undergrowth is damp and dead and squirms with froglets and toadlets fighting for a quiet spot in the shade.
